High cholesterol is common but can be serious
If you have high cholesterol, you’re not alone. It’s a common condition that can also put you at risk for serious health problems such as heart attack or stroke.
While current cholesterol medications are often effective for lowering cholesterol, they don’t necessarily reduce the risk of heart disease. That’s why researchers are working to develop new medications that may better treat high cholesterol and the risk of heart disease in the future.
Doctors are studying an investigational medication
Local doctors are looking for people with high cholesterol for a clinical research study of an investigational medication. (Investigational means it isn’t approved for the public yet.)
If you qualify for this research study, you will have the opportunity to try this medication. You will also receive study-related care at no charge.
